The survivors learn of rescue that is attempting to reach their besieged home. Even with their new weapons, knowing they can kill that which has already died, they cringe at the idea of facing the onslaught of the roaming masses that wish to consume them.
This track was fun as hell to write. It actually started as an attempt to make a completely different kind of song with the opening riff, but that didn’t last long as I heard the potential for something bigger in it. The intro progressed logically and when I hit the verse I was ready to add some melody on top, but hit a wall. Fortunately enough, Viking Guitar had established Death Slam prior to starting this song, and that month’s theme was Hot Fuzz/Shaun of the Dead. That initially led to the title being what it is, but it inspired me to go the extra mile and do vocals. Of the three vocal tracks for the album this was the first I wrote and recorded them in a friend's kitchen before redoing them at home practically two years later. Of course, Norrin_Radd’s Anomaly was incredibly inspirational in the vocal department and I similarly used RushJet1’s RJDMC to bitcrush the vocals into NESdom. After writing a few lyrics I knew this song was coming together, and since Norrin had the biggest impact on my chiptuning ability and inspiration, I wanted him to do a guest spot. He comes in right after the second chorus and kicks off the solo for me (any fan will hear it right away), doing a damn fine job all around. Obligatory gunshot at the end of the song.
